Vivaio Valfredda presents three workshops on flowers and herbaceous perennials for the 2018 Edition, with three outstanding guests: Nigel Dunnett, Professor of Planting Design and Urban Horticulture at the University of Sheffield in England and Best in Show at the 2013 Edition of the Chelsea Flower Show; Thomas Rainer, landscape architect, professor and author of revolutionary books; and Piet Oudolf, who needs no introduction!
Patroness of the Event as in the past editions will be Annie Guilfoyle, award-winning designer, silver medalist at the Chelsea Flower Show and writer for the well-known magazine Garden Illustrated, in tandem with Mauro Crescini, Valfredda’s owner, European leader in the production of herbaceous perennials.

Thomas Rainer is a landscape architect, professor and author of revolutionary books (the most famous, ‘Planting in a Post Wild World’ was selected by the American Horticultural Society as one of the most important books of 2016) in the world of modern gardening. Thomas is one of the most important voices promoting new concepts of ecologically sustainable landscaping. In addition to being often involved as a lecturer both in the United States and Europe, he is also the head of Phyto Studio in Washington, D.C. where alongside him are people like Claudia West and Melissa Rainer.
Thomas, graduated from Georgia University, has worked at the Oehme studio, van Sweden and Associates, working on projects of different kinds and scale, from small gardens to large private residences, from hanging gardens to botanical gardens and public spaces, in short his multifaceted work has often been recognized by leading architectural magazines around the globe.
Thomas specializes in innovative planting concepts that tend to create an ecologically functional landscape. His recent works have focused on interpreting wild plant communities with the aim of recreating similar plant communities that make urban environments functional, aesthetically pleasing and ecologically sustainable.

The Eighth Edition of I Maestri del Paesaggio is characterized by an interesting initiative: ARKETIPOS collaborates with the association PHORESTA Onlus to offset CO2 emissions and finds in STUCCHI spa the sensitivity and financial support for the operation.
