Viale Papa Giovanni - Bergamo Bassa

A successful garden is a subtle balance between form and movement. It should seem natural and spontaneous, but never out of control. (Piet Oudolf)

As part of I Maestri del Paesaggio, there will be an exhibition of suspended photographs, dedicated to the well-known Dutch landscape designer Piet Oudolf, along Viale Papa Giovanni XXIII in Bergamo, dedicated to the famous Duch landscape designer Piet Oudolf.

The initiative ‘The gardens of Piet Oudolf’ conceived by Claudia Zanfi, Director of GREEN ISLAND, an international programme committed to territorial redevelopment and reflection on the themes of urban biodiversity for over twenty years.

Care of Green-Island

The exhibition is a journey through images with inspiration taken from Oudolf’s large garden-nursery in Hummelo (NL) created by the well-known photographer and landscapist, Alberto Callari, and a series of pictures of his better-known urban gardens (New York’s High Line; Chicago’s Millenium Park; Giardino delle Vergini, Venice Biennale, etc.).

The exhibition tells of Oudolf’s gardens and the artistic and botanical innovation that he introduced, through a series of exceptional photographs taken by Oudolf.
