Landscapes in a suitcase

edited by Erika Lacava
floral arrangements by Massimo Bailo
coordination Silvia Mascheretti

The Suitcase Project is an itinerant exhibition project born from the encounter of a suitcase with contemporary art.

The Suitcase Project collects the small-format works of several emerging and established artists, called to weave the theme of the landscape according to the poetics of each, for a set of intimate and evocative works.

The works travel, in different stages, throughout Italy in a vintage suitcase. But instead of containing what we need for the journey, the suitcase of the Suitcase Project brings with it a piece of the landscape crossed. The Suitcase Project is now a guest of the festival I Maestri del Paesaggio.

Artist

FABIO ADANI
An artist of Correggio, he makes of the delicacy of representation, of the unfinished and of the just mentioned a preferential way of approaching reality. Delicate landscapes stretched on the edge of transparency, in which the watercolor ideally continues the line of photography retouched to acrylic, to emphasize the invidual perception of the landscape, the vision interiozzata and mediated by the gaze of everyone.

ANNAMARIA GELMI
Artist of international fame, with over fifty years of career and numerous public and private commissions. Its essential and rigorous sign has always been combined with a subtle reference to the primitive forms of nature, leaves, mountains, flowers, combined with the geometric features of architecture.

ALESSANDRO LOBINO
Sardinian artist active since the early 90s in the research and experimentation of materials, in the following years chooses as the materials of choice resin and bread carasau, which still mark its style.

FABIO PRESTI
Artist active for years on the territory of Brianza, has a style reconosibile by a few figurative elements surrounded by decorative elements. The use of marble dust and rust, mixed with acrylic, symbolizes the materialization of time on a physical support, the stratification and creation of a place, in its particularity.

FABIO REFOSCO
An artist of transparencies, with just mentioned landscapes and the use of playful and unusual material, he exhibited in various group and solo shows in Vicenza, Treviso, Rome, Milan.

LUCIA PESCADOR
Historical artist of Voghera, crosses the landscape with light strokes and pastel colors.

DADO SCHAPIRA
Artist linked to the landscapes of the Dolomites and Cortina in particular, to which he dedicated several works. Among these, also the two presented for the Suitcase Project, "Monte Cristallo" and "Verso sera", mountain profiles designed by a weave of wires and nails in the typical style of Schapira.

TINA SGRO'
Winner of numerous calls and awards, including the Premio Arte Mondador, is currently on display at the MART in Rovereto.
Tina Sgrò’s painting emerges in the panorama of contemporary research for a series of works dedicated to interiors or urban views, characterized by strong luministic contrasts, a theatrical dimension of the representation and a marked intention of psychological introspection.

MAURO PINOTTI
Initially a photographer, for a few years he has been dedicated to the construction of small worlds of materials of iron and cement, dystopias of the contemporary in which the buildings seem to invade all the surrounding soil. In the new production comes into its landscapes aeorofaghe plants, the Tillandsia, a hope of regeneration in a future perspective.

SARA LOVARI
His works are distinguished by warm colors inspired by the earth and nature, for applications polymaterial that dialogue on ancient and precious supports such as nineteenth-century books and maps, giving life to picto-sculptures and assemblage.

ALESSANDRA ROVELLI
Alessandra Rovelli translates inner paths into landscape paths that swallow the gaze and transport the observer in a no where that is already in full fading. [... ] The artist gives us landscapes of a post-industrial era steeped in lyricism, missing the human presence and for this very reason, pervaded by her (Giovanna Lacedra).

PINA INFERRERA
Pina Inferrera’s investigation is aimed at exploring the surrounding reality, ranging from the observation of nature, the environment and man, to the analysis of artifacts.
